Today I am addressing an issue that seems to be recurring within a certain faction of supporters for a particular candidate that is not in the race I am currently in. These attacks serve no purpose other than to try to negatively impact the momentum of my campaign.

I will be addressing this now and will not be addressing it any further.

Over the years as a community leader, I have had the opportunity to meet with countless groups, organizations and individuals and have listened to concerns and have collaborated with them to bring attention to and help facilitate resources to resolve them.

Following a conversation in late December 2023, I was told about a situation that had been occurring for many years at Lower Richland High School. After giving it much thought, I submitted a FOIA request seeking the auditor’s report that I was told about on January 17, 2024. That Auditors report was the result of an investigation regarding a time clock issue of an employee being paid but having never clocked in at LRHS.

In early September, an anonymous post on social media appeared showing excerpts of that report which then caused speculation and assumptions that I was the individual that leaked it.

For the record, while I find the situation very concerning, I was not the one posting this information. This didn’t involve the race that I am currently in and would serve me no purpose to involve myself during my campaign. Supporters of the previous principal at LRHS and a current candidate for the Seat 4 position apparently began sharing the information and screenshots of the FOIA request I submitted which included my personal information and home address.

What I find most troubling is that there seems to be more focus on who had the information versus the actual damning information that is provided in the report that went as far as calling the then principal, “dereliction of administrative responsibilities.”

Following one of the first candidates meet & greets held on Wednesday, September 18th, I approached said target of the investigation and reiterated to her that I was not the responsible party for the “leaks” appearing on social media. 

In closing, as I stated previously, this will be the only time I address this issue.  I am attaching the report so you can read and determine for yourself what the contents say.
